Facebook won't let me list anyone as my boyfriend?

i know how to get to the option. you go to edit profile, then featured people. yeah, yeah. but when i click "in a relationship" and then go to write my boyfriend's name in, it won't let me search anybody. i can type in the name, and i tried other people's names so he isn't the problem, but it come up with anybody and acts just like a text box instead of a search box. it's supposed to do what the family relationships do, and those work for me...wtf? i've asked friends and googled relentlessly, and nothing helps. facebook help was no help either, ironically.
