Problem with my Jumpshot?

When I shoot my jumpshot, I find that the ball has wayy too much spin on it. I've watched videos of people shooting (Ray allen, etc.) and videos that teach you how to shoot. They all say that the ideal spin is only 2 revolutions per second, whereas my shot has waaaay more than 2. How do I fix it?
