Why do we choose not to use the correct words?
the words we use dont have to always meet the prescriptive definition indicated in a dictionary. The words we use in a real life is called 'authentic language' and it's descriptive use of English language. Language constantly change and transform in both the form and meaning depending on the majority and general use of particular expression or vocabulary. The most important intent in exchanging opinions and thoughts is communication which means you understand the basic content the message sender tries to convey, and so the conversation develops. It's called interaction and the communication is cooperative between the sender and the receiver. Therefore, as long as you can understand the essence of the message, it is fine and the language doesn't have to be always prescriptive emphasizing on the form and structure, and it can be more practical and communicative when we use the descriptive authentic language in order to express one's idea.
