As a religious person what do you think of evolution in contrast to the story of creation found in religion?

It is obvious from scientific evidence that evolution had some bearing on our existence but believing evolution had a part to play does not exclude a creator from having a part. I believe that God created the universe and then caused it to evolve in a guided way in order to produce life and eventually human beings on our planet. There's no conflict there for me.
